XSPC D5 Dual bay Res/Pump combo leaking!

Thread Starter
So this is my first watercooling build and I've got the XSPC res pump combo

I've got it all installed and I'm leak testing but I have no idea why but the pump itself is looking, as far as I can see I've attached it all ok, compression fittings are all fine

It's just the pump and where the o-ring is attached it is leaking out

Any help?

Gonna be a pain applying tape when the loop is full :/

You used the o-ring? It might not be screwed on tight enough or it might not be on straight. Or the fittings are loose.

I've taken off and refitted the o-ring and pump to the res twice so I think it's fitted right, tightness could be possible but I've tightened it as much as I can.

How do you mean fittings? The ones for the tubing?

I can see its leaking out of the inner part of the o-ring and it mainly only leaks when the pump is turned on

Here is a video on how to use the Teflon tape. The trick is to wrap it in the right direction or it can come off. This stuff does not cost much at any local hardware store.

It shouldn't be leaking and you shouldn't have to do anything to make it work right. I have the same res and mine doesn't leak. You may have to return it and get another one.

Mine is leaking too in the same spot,

@OP What did you do to fix it?

EDIT: About to send this to XSPC through their online "Technical Support" page..
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
G'day XSPC,

Re-built my loop recently to find that the top of the XSPC BayRes is warped, which is resulting in a leak too. I'm very lucky that it didn't get to my HDD's actually..

After finding this I have done a quick Google and posted on a few forums asking for help and the general consensus is that it's a fault with the BayRes and it being nylon.

I would like to request a new Acrylic unit, seeing as it is obviously a design flaw with the Nylon units and I have had a lot of hassle with this. (I've drained it like 3 times now and I have Uni work to get done).

For reference my loop consists of:
XSPC BayRes v2,
XSPC D5 Vario,
XSPC RX360 (XSPC Fans to go with it of course!)
Heatkiller Rev 3.0 1155 Block,
Red Primochill Tubing.

- A not so Happy customer.
