So I own a sapphire hd6870 for a while. I'm not going upgrade to a expensive hd7870 as I don't got that much cash. I got a deal on a almost like New but used hd 6870. I bought it for $50- will it be worth it?

they do push out nice performance ( maxed farcry3 @ 1080p @ 60-70fps no AA) , but they get HOT, like 88/90c hot in an antec 902. Also you'll notice a lot of micro stutter in games like farcry3.

Is there a way to reduce the shutter? I have lots of airflow on my coming up new build. Is 8x pci express going to do any bad to my fps? I might sell them and get me a 7870. But for now this is what I got with my incoming fx 8120

OP which country are you from. the HD 7870 Tahiti LE might be a better option than HD 6870 CF. the card comes with 2 games (Bioshock infinite , Tombraider) which you could sell to cut back your costs further.

also what psu do you have ? how many amps does it provide on +12v rail ? whats your monitor resolution ? if you can fill up the sig rig

I currently have the hx850 corsair, I think it pumps more than 60amps on the 12v rail. I'm in the USA. I can't purchase any graphics right now as I'm currently recovering.

with your PSU you have is already enough and it has already a clearance for futuristic dual GPU if you desire for a crossfire set up... thumb.gif

Perform nicely, Iv got CF6850s overclocked to 1ghz and theres nothing they cant max out and remain playable.
So 6870s should be just as nice.

Get the latest beta driver, It fixing the stuttering completely even tho it wasnt bad in the first place if you run Vsync.

What would be a good price to sell both for?
