Looking For Advice on Dynamic Microphones (Budget :50-80Euro's)(Usb)

Hey i'm Looking For Advice on Dynamic Microphones

im planning to return my old(1 week old^^) Condenser Mic (Samson Meteor)
Because i had to many problems with it in my situation

i got adviced to look at dynamic Microphones and that those will work beter for me

(normal room)
(no carpet on the floor, acoustically reflective surfaces everywhere)
(loud Keyboard (Steelseries 7g)
(Loud Computer fans)

sofar im intrested in these :

http://www.samsontech.com/samson/products/microphones/usb-microphones/q2u/

Audio-Technica AT2005USB Cardioid Dynamic USB/XLR Microphone

im looking for more advice on this mater because im not sure yet what to pick
my budget is something like 50-80Euro's (50-125euro's if it is realy that much beter and no need to buy anything else after)

also do Dynamic mic's work fine if ur 15-20inch's away from it?
since in all the video's i watch none of them had it on their desk they just kept it in their hand and use it within 1-2inch and since im going to use this mic only for skype/gaming comunication i cant have it to close to me

edit : i googled around sofar i only saw post/guides saying a dynamic mic doesnt work so well at distances and it will lose quality/bass if this is true this might be a reason to hold me back on this mic kind
since i realy need it at a 30-40CM ( 15-20Inch) distance to not stand in the way of my screen

im not sure if this is still the right forum to place this on but i cant find any sub forum for microphones

I think the only thing you'll really lose is some of the bass due to the proximity effect.  If you place it on your desk in such a way where it's pointed directly at your mouth and if you turn it up high enough, then it should work better than a large diaphragm condenser.  The background noises will be lower than what you're getting now with the Meteor, but the sound quality will be roughly the same.

I think the alternative is to keep the Meteor and cover your walls in carpeting and to cover as much of your floor in carpeting or rugs as possible.  This will help to absorb many of those sound waves.

well getting the carpet to stick to the walls is still gonna be hard without glue/nails/ruining the walls + the condencer mic will still hear the keyboard and buying a mic stand for 35euro's will only reduce the keyboard sound for 45%

while the dynamic mic will probly reduce it by 70% by it self if its aimed 40 degree up to my mouth ( with a included desk stand)

its just the quality/if it can even hear me on a 20inch distance that whas worring me
so the quality will still be the same ?

The quality can't change; only the richness of it due to the proximity effect.  So, there will be less low end.  It's kind of like when you have headphones on and you pull them outwards away from your ears a little bit.  The quality remains the same, but you lose some of the fullness of the sound.

The whole purpose for putting carpet on the walls and floor is to deaden the sound as much as possible.  Again, it would be like the difference between a bathroom and a quiet living room that has plush carpet on the floor.

hmm arcording to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RVyQHsBaVI

i will only lose between 0 / -6 dB

because i will be 1ft(30cm) -1.5ft(45cm) away from the mic
wich seems to be fine/the way to use it just hope those graphs also works for a dynamic since he did not say if it whas for dynamic or condencer (maybe there's no difference ?)

He's talking about camera mics, and I think that those are always condensers.  They have to be in order to pick up from a distance.

I think you'd be just fine with a decent dynamic mic.

A little, but it's much closer to the way our ears work.  Think about someone talking right next to your ear and then backing away while they're still talking directly toward your ear.  It's very similar with large diaphragm condensers.
