Remeasured my card and its 11 1/4, oops my bad. lol. And it fits very snug. Looks like I might have to go with the 7870 after all. My, my look at that dust. Guess I'm cleaning out the pc's tomorrow. smile.gif

the iceq x2 boost has a 950 mhz boost. iceq boost has 925 mhz boost. the cooler design is different . but at the same clocks both cards will perform same. the advantage with the iceq x2 is it uses a HD 7970 PCB with 8 + 6 pin and is a good choice for extreme overclocking with watercooling. compatible with full cover reference HD 7970 waterblock. the iceq boost uses a reference HD 7950 PCB with 6 + 6 pin.

OP there are HD 7950 cards which are less than or equal to 11 inches long.

Sapphire HD 7950 vapor-x is 10.83 inches (275 mm) long
http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1157&pid=1547&psn=&lid=1&leg=0#

XFX HD 7950 DD is 10.5 inches (267 mm) long
http://xfxforce.com/en-gb/Products/Graphics-Cards/AMD/AMD-Radeon-HD-7000/AMD-Radeon-HD-7950/FX-795A-TDFC.aspx

MSI HD 7950 twin frozr is 261 mm long. there is also a MSI HD 7950 twin frozr which uses a HD 7970 PCB which is exactly 11 inches (279 mm long)
http://www.msi.com/product/vga/R7950-Twin-Frozr-3GD5-OC.html#?div=Specification

here is the MSI HD 7950 twin frozr (HD 7970 PCB) fitting in an ANTEC 300 which supports max length of 279 mm

http://www.overclock.net/t/1332900/7950-msi-or-xfx-dd/10#post_18725170

here is a user who bought the sapphire HD 7950 vapor-x from amazon. dual 8 pin version. this version has very positive user feedback. you can check card length with this user and ask any other questions

http://www.overclock.net/t/1281711/hd7950-revised-with-reference-hd7970-pcb-club/400#post_19223550

i recommend saving up the extra money and going for a Sapphire HD 7950 Vapor-x. the XFX DD cooler is not so good. the msi hd 7950 twin frozr has poor quality control and few users complain of overheating due to improper TIM application at the factory. after proper cleaning and TIM reapplication they were able to resolve the problem. good luck with whatever card you choose. thumb.gif

OK just to update I went and ordered this card: PowerColor AX7950 3GBD5-2DHV4 Radeon HD 7950 Boost State 3GB So I hope its a good one. It has good reviews and should fit in my case.

I have been thinking about this for a while now. But decided to just go with the 7950 over the 7870XT. Bigger memory bus and more ram. Woo hooo! biggrin.gif

OP if you change that order do it. the card you chose has a reference cooler and is loud. temps are also higher than compared to custom cooler versions. go for the msi hd 7950 twin frozr. it will fit comfortably in your case.

I like the cooler on the 7950 but the 7870 would be my choice. Better value for the $$$

Just checked my order and its in packaging. So can't change it. Hopefully this card isn't any louder than my current 5870. It gets pretty loud, but I'm used to it. So I'll probably be alright. smile.gif

Get the 7950, the 7870XT is like a CMI 7950. A 7950 will last longer and the price to performance ratio is just amazing.
I'd go with the 7950 just for future proofing down the road. It will probably be easier to find a 7950 than a 7870. The potential of the 7950 is pretty remarkable.
