Lightscribe finishes job, with nothing on disc

Hi everyone, I'm kind of extremely peeved at my new Blu Ray burner with Lightscribe. I've attempted to burn 2 different disks with Lightscribe support to make a burnt in label on the disk, and I've done this around 3 times with every disc.

My problem is once the job finishes, I open the disc tray and the top is totally blank, nothing at all on it. I've tried making the label darked with the Lightscribe control panel, still nothing. I'm using HP Lightscribe DVD's with an LG Blu Ray burner with Lightscribe support. Any ideas on what the problem is? Is it the disks, or the burner?

If it's the burner I'll rip it out of the system later today and return it to the store, what a piece of junk.

if i remember right with lightscribe discs you have to flip them upside down with label side to the laser for lightscribe to work.

other than that look for an updated driver also

Well, this is a late time for a reply, but nothing fixed the problem so I just returned the drive. smile.gif

Apparently LG is known for having bad support and crappy products.... That was the last LG product I'm buying!

i remember this would happen occasionally on my old Dell desktop, it didnt have a lightscribe drive but.
Can probably depend on what sort of application you use to burn with aswell.
Never had an issue with Power ISO, however the Roxio suite would leave the disc blank every now and then.

How do you expect anything to be done to the top of the disc when it's not facing the drive's laser?

I don't know about their support, but their products don't seem any worse than anything else at a similar price point.

While burning the disc was flipped so the laser could burn the top. When I took it out I flipped it over so I could see the top and nothing was on it.

And, their support is garbage in Canada. Nobody helps, and when they say "I don't know what the problem is" they just hang up the call.

Yeah, that does sound pretty shoddy of them. I'd at least expect them to forward you to an RMA department.

Didn't want to deal with that though. It was just quicker and probably easier to return it to the local store where I bought it, full refund, no questions asked.
