Earlier this afternoon we reported on some rumors floating around that Samsung will announce and unveil their new Galaxy S IV flagship smartphone on March 15th. Reports suggest an initial Samsung Unpacked event will take place, with retail availability coming sometime in April. Today new reports seem to align perfectly with those rumors.
I hope so! My contract of my HTC Desire ends in April. I can upgrade from March 18th but I think if correct, I will leave it a few weeks or so.

That is just SO ridiculously dense. 440ppi? o_O

My contract with sprint on my HTC Evo 3D is up in May. Looks like i found my upgrade! Thank goodness, never will i buy an HTC device again.

Really? What was wrong with your HTC?

I've loved all of my HTC devices; had like 6 of them starting way back with Windows Mobile. Always been absolute tanks and survived everything.

...Except for one that got ran over by a forklift...

I'm all for functionality these days. Not really interested in this phone.

Bring on functionality phones! When is Samsung going to make a qwerty superphone? In April I'm trading in my phone (which will pay for the contract and then some) and then jumping on the Q10.

Well my first evo 3d essentiall fell apart. Metal bezel fell off around the screen, and the other one around the camera fell off as well. Then the entier far left quarter inch from top to bottom would no longer accept input, and started spreading along the bottom. It would randomly start pushing buttons on its own, turn off during phone calls, randomly not accept input, and click complete different places than where i really was. So i just replaced it under warranty($100). So far the new one is good to go, but i've only had it for almost a week. That last one left a bad taste in my mouth.

Remember the first evo? What about the hero? First touch pro anyone? Back in the day HTC use to own Samsung in phones. I don't know what happened them. Samsung did get better but it is almost like HTC decided to go backwards. Like samsung paid them to not compete against them. It isn't true but it seems like it.

I hope they don't make it all plastic again, please at least give it an aluminum frame the S3 felt flimsy and way to light for me.

I went to a verizon store and saw their HTC Droid DNA, first phone in north america with a 5" 1080P screen. its looks phenominal! the phone its self is crap, but the screen was amazing. and that was super LCD 3 or what ever, the LED screen on the SIV should look even better!

one thing i noticed is that video on youtube mobile arent supported over 720, so could really take advantage of the 1080p screen, at least on youtube.

The phone itself is crap ?! Hows that ... the hardware inside the phone is pretty much the best you can get at the moment and its an android device, dont like the stock UI ? get a custom rom, thats it. But yeah the battery sucks ... that sad.

I've never understood why people make a big deal out of pentile. But I doubt Samsung will make it pentile. IIRC the entire reason they used pentile arrangements to begin was because of some limitation of OLED that they overcame with the Note 2's display.

The battery completely ruins the phone. So yes I would say that it sucks. With phones battery is one of the most important features. I'd rather be stuck with 800x400 with a battery that last 16 hours than 1080p with awesome hardware and it can't make it through the workday.

Small battery on high powered device, what were they thinking? Making it non replaceable makes it seem like they are trying to screw up the phone.

All things aside, samsung has to improve the UI. I find their phones beautiful, until I look at the UI and man is that ever a turn off. I know, I know...you can flash something else on...I'd rather buy something that works without me having to work on it.

Seriously, the UI needs to change and change for the better.

After that, we can talk about construction. Bring in some HTC inspired designs (the good old HTC, nice metallic feel instead of cheap plastic) would be GREAT!

Lock button is horrible, lock button location is horrible, ergonomics are horrible, it's a htc so by default it's horrible, battery sucks, no removable battery... if someone said they would trade their DNA for my s3 I'd so no thanks...

About half of that describes the iPhone as well... keep that in mind.

Also, I've played around with the Droid DNA in a Verizon store, and trust me, it is NOT horrible. It's actually a very slick piece of kit. It's seriously fast, too. For the price, there isn't another handset on the market that can compete with it. The ONLY exception to that rule is the Nexus 4, but it only has a 1280x768 screen.

It's not perfect, but then again, no phone is. I'll take the DNA over many other competing handsets. The DNA is definitely better than the SGSIII.

HTC Droid DNA is 5", 1080P, and not pentile. You cannot see the pixels on the Droid DNA.

It can be done.

Yeah but its to jumps for samsung. They are not using IPS screen.

Also for those that dont know Pentile is so bad under low brightness.
