It's worse than the normal pixel structure. But at 440 PPI it probably won't be noticeable. Though I'm pretty sure it does make everything look a little greener, no?

Unless there is an abundance of either blue or red solid colors, you cannot tell the difference at 320, so it won't be an issue at 440.

Pretty sure the issue only affects a select few, which is why "incompetent tech sties" don't report it.

Sell your iPhone, buy an SGS3, and see for yourself.

(no, it doesn't make things look greener)

I agree, but that bottom bezel where the button(s) are could be a bit smaller. It would be the difference between a 4.8" screen and a 4.9 or 5.0" screen.

In-contract price doesn't really mean anything. You can get most flagship phones under $100-200 after a couple months of being out on the market. Out-of-contract pricing needs to be lower on nearly all phones these days. The S3 out of contract is $600, and the Note 2 is $700. On the other side of the spectrum, The Nokia Lumia 920 is only $500. All flagship models of their OS, comparable hardware, yet huge price differences.

This was going to be my question. How many people is it affecting? Is it consistent across all combinations? Say all Sony TVs, etc? I ask because I have been interested in getting the MHL adapter (I still think it's a lame/cheap shot that they have a special, non-standard one).

You haven't even done 5 minutes of searching the web if that's your conclusion. If it were only a few, I wouldn't have heard about it or seen it in person. (And if this were an iPhone, the tech sites would be all over it.)

I spend an obscene amount of time on XDA, in the development and Q&A forums for the GT-i9300. I haven't seen any such threads.
