Noobie Overclocker.

I am new to overclocking when it comes to graphics cards. I have a his radeon 7970 iceq x2 with a waterblock. How do I overclock it? Is there a guide that I can use?

1. Download MSI Afterburner.
2. Set a fan profile. (set the fans to operate at higher speeds because it's gonna get warm)
3. Bump the core frequency up a hair. I like increments of 20-50mhz, but your initial "bump" can probably be 100-200mhz over stock to save you some time.
4. Run a stress test (Afterburner usually comes with one), benchmark, a Folding@home GPU client, or whatever games you want to play. If it crashes or the display gets weird, you put the frequency too high; turn it down a bit. If it runs fine, try to bump the frequency up a little and test again. WATCH YOUR TEMPS. If it gets too hot, stop what your doing and turn the fans up more or reduce your OC.
5. At some point you will find the maximum frequency that you can run your card at without crashing your display driver. Save the setting to Afterburner and have it apply that OC at startup.

Memory speed: I don't usually OC the memory. I've never seen a noticeable difference and a lot of cards I've had are touchy about their memory frequencies. If you wish to try, the process is the same as the core frequency.
