Lol for 400 dollars I would hope so. There are a lot more of have nots compared to those who have. They sale way more camry's then lambo's. Your logic says the Camry is better. Please go.

They both prove that graphics do not make or break a game. They are not "photorealistic", push-next-gen-out-of-the-window, drive-your-mother-in-law-to-Easter-Sunday, write-a-letter-about-it-and-send-it-home-to-mommy-from-the-war, graphical swaths of titanic genius.

If you're going by artstyle, then that's a whhhooollle other animal. And that animal ain't barking up this tree.

That's not even close to a valid comparison...

I paid $400 for my graphics card alone, something that can run the most recent games well for even $500 is definitely a bargain! thumb.gif

Simply put, this is exactly the same as always. They know that hard core gamers and enthusiasts will be the first to buy them at launch. The prices always start high for the first 1-2 years, then gradually get cheaper as time goes on. This is just simple business and not unlike other companies for some of their products.

Most believe this will be a $600 item at launch and at least as expensive as the PS3 or perhaps even more. It's not a bad price at all considering this is upon release and how long the prior model has lasted in the market. Even if it's half that time for some reason, averaged out over several years is still decent. Also, keep in mind the typical gamer is 30 years old which means that as a whole we are gainfully employed, thus able to afford whatever the cost for our entertainment.

Also, Sony has already said they are NOT blocking any used games on the PS4 and understand the concern. A simple Google search will show several articles like the quote below:
Quote:
In an interview with the video game blog Eurogamer, Sony Worldwide Studio president Shuhei Yoshida says that the PS4 will not block second-hand games.

"That's the general expectation by consumers," Yoshida told Eurogamer. "They purchase physical form; they want to use it everywhere, right? So that's my expectation."

Yoshida added: "So, used games can play on PS4. How is that?"

I will wait for a few more details at E3, but most likely a day one buyer here.

Who are these "most" you speak of. Everything I've heard/read leads to a cheaper price than the PS3

What? That comparison makes absolutely zero sense. And the camry is better in some respects, better gas mileage, more space, additional seats, easier on the wallet, doesn't randomly catch on fire, it's all on your perspective of what you need thumb.gif

And you paid 1,000 dollars for a gpu that by itself can do absolutely nothing without hundreds in other parts and a OS. I'm not seeing your point, this wasn't a price comparison? But if you do want to play that game.... I bet in 5 years your 690 won't be playing the ports from the consoles nearly as well as they run on the system so from a purely gaming perspective, pc is on the losing end in that respect.

And don't flag me a console gamer, the last console I cared about was the original xbox, and only have a 360 as it was a gift late into the consoles life cycle.

Anyways, the point being is, this 'graphics is the one thing that matters most' generation is killing the good games and the pc is getting shafted the most in that respect.

Actually it does make sense. A base model camry (there highest selling model) is around 22k. The PS4 will be around 400. A top of the line gaming PC will put you back roughly 3500-4k. Basically 9x the cost of a PS4. 22K x 9 = 198k which is close to the price of a fully done up Gallardo. So the comparison is right on. Back on topic I have no idea what my gtx690 will play in 5 years because it will be replaced in the next 6-10 months. I like to stay on top of technology unlike a console which will give you the same graphics for the next 7 years. I love all the talk of ohh it will take them a few years to get the potential out of a Playstation. Its a 7850 its garbage sorry. Like I said I'm all for a new console. My wife enjoys the singstar and dancing games and I needed to upgrade my blu-ray player in the family room anyways. For everyday gaming entertainment its just not for me. 1080p at only 30fps is pretty pathetic when your used to 2560x1440p at 60fps.
