I am about to buy this from the amazon warehouse used in very good condition. I just want to know if this would be a smart move buying a used laptop?

I would not have an issue with buying a used laptop. I would have an issue with buying a Netbook. I got sucked in to buying one and it was not a good experience. A tablet will actually be more functional. And at $250 I really don't think it is worth it. You can probably find a Netbook with similar specs brand new for that price. Like this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834215434

Or go refurb and get a full blown laptop that is still pretty prortable and will give you a much better experience: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834200598
