SSD SLOOOOOOOOOW read speeds. And not great wrtie speeds.

Hi,

I'm having some slow writing speeds with my SSD. And I have no clue what can it be. I pretty much don't know anything about Storage and stuff. I only know what 3Gb/s and 6Gb/s is.

On my BIOS, I have RAID and not AHCI because I have two 500Gb setup on ride. My SSD is connected yo my 6Gb/s SATA.

That's as much info as I can give :/

Here's a pic of a benchmark I did.

Thanks for the help guys! biggrin.gif

At the 130Mb/s on the right side. My two HDDs write at a rate of ~150Mb/s
Its should be atleate 300Mb/s since the SSD should be writing at 450Mb/s as advertised in the SSD box. Hahaha

This.

They don't use AS SSD to advertize speed, they use ATTO.

Actually it is advertised as "up to" 450 Mb/s

in reality it is like this

some drive have a average close to the max but there are others whose average is closer to the minimum. But still the 120mb/s on your system is odd.

I see. But still, 130Mb/s is slow for a SSD... Right? I've seen people getting ~300Mb/s speed rates

How can you say that is odd?

You don't see that HD Tune Test being title AS SSD now do you? rolleyes.gif

Show me where people get 300MB/s in AS SSD with your 120GB drive and I will make a video of me eating my own shoe.

Bench with ATTO for advertized speeds with SANDFORCE drives.

So its all about the Bechmark?

I thought most of the benchmarks where similar. I see the speeds I have are about as right then..... Thanks guys! biggrin.gif

AS SSD tests with compressed data. Sandforce drives do real time compression, therefore they will have an issue writing fully compressed data to them fast. Thus they are slower with compressed data.

ATTO tests with uncompressed data. Since sandforce drives compress data real time they will write that type of data faster. SSD manufactureres rate their drives with ATTO for the most part. Thus you get your speeds that are advertised with ATTO.

So yes it is all about the benchmark, not all are the same or test alike...that is why there are more than one...
