I want to upgrade my wireless router

Thread Starter
I have been using my Linksys WRT54GL with Tomato firmware (I set it up using the very helpful guide in this forum) for many years, but the range and wireless speeds are pretty slow. It's great with everything else... very reliable and has served me well for years.

I'd like to upgrade to something with more range and faster wireless speed. I really need a router that is reliable and does not drop connections. I want to spend around $50 or less. I just use my router for basic home things.

Any recommendations?

but ive pretty much decided if buying a router its gonna be an asus, they pretty much have my vote currently. take a look at em, thats far below what i was looking to spend but they have alot of wrt capable routers that have lots of functions.
