I found this just now... Its really interesting to read.

Its latest review I found

Its VRM temps are way too high cause of poor cooling.

Lets knock to sapphire door so they will have to do something about this...

Good thing I found this one. Been planning to buy another for crossfire. I may not now...... mad.gifmad.gifmad.gifmad.gifmad.gif

Ha ha. Keep buying Sapphire's nonref PCBs.

My TWO HD5870s blew due to a VRM failure in both cards.

Oh this guy :-). He got a faulty card and is making an online crusade out of this, instead of just exchanging or returning the card on warranty (well he can't, seeing that he already dremeled his heatsinks rolleyes.gif )

He also implies that the rated voltage of the memory chips used is 1.6v, based only on the fact that his card runs unstable without upping the voltages (again - IMO faulty), while in fact it the memory is specified for 1.5v and most users have no such problems.

VRM cooling is indeed weak, but it is definitely adequate for stock clocks/voltages and Sapphire gives a warranty for that. For overclocking, you should always know what you are doing.

With my daily overclock of 1085/1650, the VRMs peak at 83C in Farcry3, which isn't awesome, but allright.

thanks... it could be the fact that he really got a faulty card...

Well better check your cards... as for me.. damn how I wish I could test now. I am out of town and still in few months ill be back.. damn it...

well they give a 2 years warranty anyway...
