How much power consumption would my whole PC consume?

Thread Starter
Hey there ladies and gents how much power consumption does my new system consume? (I haven't got the PC yet I will though very soon when I have the money).

Here it is: https://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=wish_lists&wlcId=134673&action=wish_lists

1) I haven't a PSU in that list there since I am buying a "High Quality PSU" from another site, here it is:

http://www.ple.com.au/ViewItem.aspx?InventoryItemID=606870&CategoryID=318

2) I have heard that this is a very good quality PSU.

3) the price on PCCaseGear is:

$2,426,50

now + $119 for the PSU from ple the price is:

$2545,5

4) I will be going down to ple to buy the PSU on site, but the rest (all the other parts case, headphones etc...) will be bought and shipped directly to my house so it will cost around $200 more, well the actual price for everything is (including shipping), (credit card charges, etc):

$2793.47

-$30 or something since I added $119 with the shipping taxes, credit card charges etc... so maybe around $2750

Anyway hopefully you all know what I am talking about lol, hope I can get some help

And also the main point of this post, will that PSU be able to hold up the system I am purchasing?

Will this motherboard + all the other parts be compatible with the dual GPU setup I will be using?

The PSU will most likely be able to handle it. I would upgrade to maybe an 850 to be safe and allow wiggle room. Also for around ten bucks more you could get better temperatures from the corsair h100.
Now about power draw there are quite a few factors that contribute to this so the only way to know is with a killawatt but you can probably expect to take on about eh 650 to 700 on load.

Alright well what PSU would you recommend?

I also heard that the NH-D14 is the best CPU Cooler on the market. Well for the price.

To get a "number", use PSUcalc. Your system comes out to a consumption of 650W. If you are going to be overclocking it, then around 700 will be good

So, you are fine with that PSU, with a little headroom.

I don't know much about the xfx core. It has a 80 plus bronze rating which is good. Also try looking for Corsair in the same range. They run silent (AX series, if I'm not mistaken).

Also consider ones that are modular, if needed.

PS: The safest, paranoid suggestion would be to go with 850W

You should be pulling about 600-650w with that rig. With that power consumption I would Like to see 700-750w PSU. This will give you room for more fan's, hard drive's and what ever else you may wish to add.

650W? that system is hard pressed to break 500W even with an overclock tongue.gif With a 750W you could go crossfire and full water and still have power left for a pile of HDD's.

Edit: Actually Sorry kenpachiroks didn't notice the fact that he had two 7970's in the basket so the 650W is actually pretty accurate redface.gif

that is crossfire, look at the side where it shows the amount of cards, anyways with 2 7970s heavily overvolted you'll be able to break 900 watts from the wall, I'd get a high quality 750-800w psu
