lol I did, but I'm embarrassed to say how long I was in my bed for.  I'll just say this:  I bet I'll be able to stay awake for the next 24-36 hours.  :)

Ive posted in asus.

Post here.  You will get better results.  Also, I wouldn't send me a PM about this because I'm not very good at Ivy Bridge on the Z77 chipset.  I'm better with Sandy Bridge on the P67 and Z68 chipset (mostly the P8P67 series).

So make a new thread here on OCN, and then you'll have a whole team of people assisting you.

i thought i would just update that first to rule that out, any ideas? i am assuming you updated yours via a usb flash? and also you downloaded the cap file also?

I don't remember the file or files.  Although, yes, I used my USB flash drive.

At this point, I recommend leaving it.  Your motherboard is brand new.  I also see no reason to update to a newer BIOS, partly because of how new your board is.

If you still want to update it, then my best advice is to use the manual because our motherboards are from two different generations.

Kind regards

Just to add,

When i go to reinstall windows and delete the partitions etc, out of my 2 ssd's my 256 shows as primary (where it wants to install windows) ok so i select the smaller (64gb) but the larger ssd still shows as my primary, should this not be changed? if so how do i change it?

My question right now is, why do you want to reinstall Windows?

You can rename it in My Computer.  Right-click the drive and choose Rename.  Or left-click it and press F2.  It's the same thing.

In general, always right-click things to see what options you might have.

Hey Two, hows things?

I Wasn't planning on pm'n you, but least i know not too wink.gif

after seeking help on asus forum
http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?id=20130208201748587&SLanguage=en-us&page=1&board_id=1&model=P8Z77-V%20PRO

i was directed to this
http://www.eightforums.com/installation-setup/13400-cannot-boot-uefi-install.html

Maybe an issue with installing windows in UEFI mode? not sure, - i reinstalled windows because a link on simforums, listed a load of services that were safe to shut down/put on auto etc etc, but after doing a few i got the feeling i was in over my head(probably not as i was following it to the "t", but i still felt uncomfortable.

I figured out how to rename the drive.

I wanted to update my bios, purely because everything else was being updated - chipsets gr/drivers etc etc, and as i see so many people running 1805 i guessed it was safe enough, now looking at it, maybe my bios aint too happy with what i am trying to do?(even though thousands have done it already, just because every board/chip/ram/ssd is different sort of thing)..

I think all of this is out of my league. I don't even know anything about installing Windows in UEFI mode (or what that even means).
