Should I upgrade now with a Titan, or wait for a 770 or 780 later on?
Is the Titan now their new Flagship GPU for the future?

Or will the 770/780 be based on the same die, and provide more or less performance?

It SHOULD be sitting on my new motherboard that arrives today.... wink.gif

If you can Tri-SLI then you can Quad-SLI unless there is a driver limitation. And there isn't one. Quad-SLI just scales poorly pretty much everywhere, though.

all the photos and Ops and benchmarks have them in Tri and none in Quad.

And you're right it would be a driver limitation just like how the 670 was limited to Tri, before given Quad. And the 660s are limited to Tri atm.

Nvidia still stating Tri and not Quad

Hello everybody,

i have a single ATI 6970 and i wanted to upgrade, i must choose between the GTX 690 and the new Titan card. Advices? Wich one? Instead, should i wait? Other reasons? etc. etc.

I play with a single monitor (not much space in my room biggrin.gif) 1080x1920 and my build is watercooled (you can find it on my signature).

I would tend to say wait for 1) The price. 2) The availabilty. 3) The benchmarks.

There have been references to "benchmarks" - here is one http://www.blogamers.net/geforce-gtx-titan-benchmarks-leaked/

Note these key phrases "According to this report, the performance of Nvidia’s new high-end card is in the neighborhood of 5100 to 5400 points in 3DMark 11 xtreme. That would represent a performance increase of between 50 to 65 percent compared to Nvidia’s most powerful single-GPU card at this writing the Geforce GTX 680."

Sounds good till you notice they say the GTX 680, which is about half the expected price of the Titan, or indeed the GTX 690.

But then they say " It would also put the card on a performance level of 10-25 per cent below the GeForce GTX 690 with its dual GK104 GPUs." 10-25 % less performance is not only a very wide RANGE but if it was 25% that would be a huge differential. We'll see when somebody actually gets hold of a Titan and does verifiable benchmarks
