My main gripe with win8 is no start button so I installed Start8, is anyone else using this? Should I be using this?

use it if you want, nothing illegal about it. took me all of day to get used to the "start screen" it actually makes life easier once youve figured it out.

but since everyone has the windows 95 start menu itch, go for it. lol

I'm a lot more productive with the new start menu, but if you don't like it for what ever reason start8 and pokki are good alternatives.

Never used them but they are usually the most recommended.

Been using Start8 for a few months, can't use W8 without it. It's a really great start menu replacement and I can't find anything wrong with it, although admittedly I haven't tried any others.
