i got shot a lot.redface.gif i am pretty sure the 660 will render higher fps.
Then I guess I'll get the 660, so i dont have to resell the 650 ti later once its obsolete/slow. As I said before though my cpu is not overclockable, its got locked cores (unless there's some hack or something). I found a gtx 660 ti for $235 on NCIX, with the extra CUDA cores I think that would be best, even if my cpu is bottlenecking it.

Do all motherboards allow you to overclock stuff? I'd like to see if i can get my ram at higher speeds, since i bought the fancy samsung magic 1.35v ram which is supposed to be good for OC ing.

I have the Zotac GTX 660 and I really like it. I have mine OCed to 1024 MHz core clock (1090 boost + 65 Kepler = 1155 MHz peak), and 1590 MHz x 4 memory clock (6360 MHz). Runs Unigen perfectly stable and with good temps. I've also heard that Zotac has excellent customer support, but thankfully I haven't had to use them myself.

You can overclock locked CPU's on amd's side. My Athlon X4 630 i overclocked to i think 3.3 GHz or something from it's stock which i believe was 2.8 using the bus clock... It's harder than using a multiplier but not by much.

Are you sure my computer can do this? I suspect that they would have like locked it since its an oem/prebuilt.

Actually, the Superclocked and FTW models have a higher power limit on them, so technically, you can push the heat envelope a little further. Those cards can overclock slightly better (My FTW Sig 2 gets up over 1300mhz benchable on max boost)

Any of the EVGA variants are fine, but if you can find a SC or FTW for the same price as a normal one, take it. thumb.gif

EDIT: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007709%20600315498%20600364399&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=20

At the moment, the SuperClocked one is the same price as the eVGA standard GTX 660. That's a no brainer; get the SuperClocked.

Agreed. The EVGA GTX 660 Superclocked (02G-P4-2662-KR) is a really nice card. Of course, I prefer blower-style models over the dual-fan types...

$150 worth of "content" in F2P games, you mean.

Honestly, after nvidia announced their most recent bundle package, I suggest to EVERYONE that AMD is the better option now.

Well I was ready to buy it when it was $239 originally, but now apparently it comes with $150 worth of free credits in games. I don't care if the'yre free to play. Planetside 2 is an awesome game. I'll probably just sell them to my friend who plays it more than me, but hey anything is better than nothing.

If it werent for the cuda acceleration I'd totally go the AMD road.
