The thread creators had to request that their thread get locked because 3 people constatly complained about the games they reviewed.

Also look @ TechSpots Far Cry 3 benchmarks, the FX-8350 sits 1 FRAME behind the Ivy Bridge Core i5.

Not to mention red1776 who runs QUAD-FIRE 7970's and doesn't get any ridiculously large amount of bottlenecking. He's sitting up in this chart with the kings that own 3930k's. A LEGEND AMONG MEN. Or simply someone who didn't buy into the ridiculous BS that's been spread through-out this site recently.

Honestly, I could give two cares whether you buy Intel, AMD, or even VIA but for the love of all that's good...please stop spouting a bunch of ridiculously false information around. All it does is cause mass confusion. Nobody can suggest a FX-8350 on this site without getting a bunch of ridiculous non-sense being said about it. It's a good processor that directly competes with the 3570K. Piledriver isn't Bulldozer...

LOL. You don't notice that of the Quad 7970s he is last? That should give an indication in a benchmark which will use all available resources it still comes Last among other Quad 7970s.

Anyone who buys 4 7970s and is running an FX processor is a fool.

So even in a benchmark which uses all 8 cores it still comes last. What does that say about gaming when the game will say only use 4 cores?

See my above charts for the results.

Fanboys don't normally bother me, but when people are giving out bad advice out of loyalty to a brand then it's a step too far.
You could learn the hard way and try AMD cpu then an Intel and see for yourself OR you could ignore the charts above and rely on what a friend of a friend says.

Stick with 1 gpu is my advice.

Wait... what??? You do realize that the average eye can't tell a difference between 60fps and 200fps. Every one of those chart are now irrelevant. If you want 2 GPUs go for it. It shouldn't be a problem

Hahahahaha my point proved again, i will beat all of those scores by some margin with my 8350 and 2 7970s, review sites supplying rubbish and people like you believe it! Amazing!

Buy a cheap i5...??? I'll notice a big difference...? have you still not read the source I and now a couple of others have supplied? the difference is minimal to 8350, in fact the guy who helped me compile this info with the i5 admitted that he could not get over 4.5ghz with out delidding... I am sure that I the tests were done again at my max overclock against his max undelidded score the 8350 would win in every situation....

^-This on so many different levels. Will you see higher frames rates on an Intel? Yes but at this point is it a trivial amount of frames and also varies from title to title. As someone who has owned/own/used i5's, 8120's, and 8320's I noticed little difference between an i5 and 8320. i5 vs 8120 there was a minute difference.

You may not get the best performance but you won't be held back by any means with 2 7970s.

Let me clear some things up.

#1. It has the lowest score out of all Quad GPU setups because it's a $200 CPU. ALL the other systems are using $300-$1000 Core i7 based CPU's.

#2. The FX-8350 is not a true 8 core processor. It has 4 modules, but 2 cores per module. It's essentially AMD's answer to hyperthreading, but much less effective. It's also a $200 processor, so who cares about the core count?

#3. Refer to the benchmarks I showed you.

Yep, every cpu out on the market will bottleneck two 7970s. Some cpus will do a better job than others. The FX8350 will be fine for two 7970s imo.

by the way, on newbie2009's benchmarks it says that 2 7970's in ultra on sleeping dogs gets 47.1 fps with the 8350 at 4.8ghz and a 3770k get 84.7.... well for a start there is no ultra setting, it is known as extreme preset, and sorry but my 8350 just got MOAR FPS then the beloved 3770k...

Yep that's right.... MOAR

Obviously you have no clue how 4-way CF works. Please dont post incorrect information.

don't complain to the messenger, just going by data provided from that one thread where Red did his system among a few others.... >_> eesh. wanna get critical there's other topics that deserve it more than what i said...

I'm sorry I don't believe IPC does equal FPS.

had crappier FX compared the Vishera, proof below.

Lowest all 8 cores FX 8120

4 modules 4 cores FX 8120

Phenom II x6 1090T Turbo 4.3ghz 4.0ghz on all cores.
yes, I mange to get turbo to work WITH an OC.

I wish I had Vishera to mess with :|
