Hi
is it possible to put a h60 or anything like that on an asus hd 7950 direct cu ii as my direct cu ii cooler bends my pcb and have a fault causing higher temps
thanks

This bracket

Some Heatsinks like this for VRMs and Memory (these particular ones are discontinued)

Any 92mm fan

That's all you should need. You may need a shim to go between the GPU and cooler depending on the GPU. I used the same bracket to put an H80 on my 670FTW and it dropped my temps ~18-20C with the radiator fan on lowest speed compared to stock cooler at 70%.

Lower temps and much less noise. It's a win-win. Good luck with the mod!

The screws are faulty on DC2 cards, not cooler.

The same happened with Powercolor HD 7990 Devil 13 card REVIEW

I have ASUS HD7950 DC2 TOP and my card came with cooling issue.

I have taken off the cooler, changed Thermal paste and installed the cooler again, but I have added 2mm thick plastic washers under the screws to increase pressure of the cooler on the GPU (in between PCB and a screw) .

tempfix_small.jpg

Now my card OC'd @ 1070/1750MHz heats up only up to 58C in games.

CHEERS..

Why not just buy a Hybrid cooler or a better air cooler? DCU is nothing special imo. Then again I'm not against Jury Rigging something up lol.

i have also added new screws with better springs and washers under the screws but there is no gap between the 4 little standoffs where the screws go in but thers a gap on one side of where the core is meant to be touching the copper.
also after the gap would not close not matter what i tried i put my case upside down and that has improved temps abit also
thanks

because they all look ugly and getting a h60 or something like that looks like id have better cooling

the direct cu ii was enough to put me off buying custom coolers
