Temp Seem Wrong

hi guys

i have an aerogate 2 monitoring my temps 4 cpu,mobo etc. anyway im finding it strange that the bios and any temp software says my cpu temp is like 8-10 degrees C higher than my LCD display says, i have the sensor for it wedged in a little gap between the heatpipes on my Zalman CNPS9500Led cooler and i cant figure why its so different.... anyway any ideas would help , not that im all that worried

well your mobo sensors are just measuring the heat from a different place than your external sensor both are prolly somewhat right just in there own spot ya know what i mean>>>>>>>?????????????

an51r is correct.

The temp diodes that your utilities are using are much closer to the core than the temp sensors that you attached. The heat disipation process begins immediately in the mass as the distance from the core increases. The best that I have been able to do is attach the sensor to the edge of footprint-side of the HS. Even then I would get a 5-8C variation.
