So many people that have GW2..but I don't recognize you in the OCN guild frown.gif, you should all join regardless of whether you have another guild or not ^_^.

Another vote for GW2 and a little bit for Tera here considering that it's not half bad for a game that's free. I personally wouldn't have paid for it though.

I don't know, I just don't like instance based, WoW isn't really that instance based aside from dungeons, which is perfectly fine for me. But Dragon Nest is nothing but instance and it gets SO repetitive, I got quickly bored of it while playing with my friend, so we both decided to quit after playing for a couple days.

I play PS2 too, well I haven't been on in over like 3 weeks now, the performance issues are too much to deal with. Constant crashing at random times when my rig should handle it 100% fine.

I don't know if that big performance patch came out yet, but until then, I won't be getting back on it soon :/
I got $45 worth of station cash during that triple deal thumb.gif

PS2 is fun, but the performance issues just ruin it.

Performance patch is out, and results are mixed. Log in and check it out.

You shouldn't be crashing though unless something is fishy on your end, I think. I haven't had a crash in months (first week of December, I think...). Most people I know who have solid OC's are perfectly stable too. Might want to double check your BIOS settings and see if you can't find anything there, sometimes it takes a game like PS2 to find instability issues.

Saint's Row 3 used to drive me up the wall like this. I could run any other game all day long without an issue, but if I have any component in my rig that is any less than 100% stable, that game will crash in either seconds or minutes no matter what I do. I used to spend weeks trying to figure out what was wrong with that game, only to find that it was something like my processor's power saving settings or my ram timings. I'm talking about hair ripping frustration, and only because of that one game.

I'll go check out PS2 later tonight or tomorrow, haven't been on TS with my outfit in forever o.o hopefully I'm still in it xD

@iMica, who knows, but from what I see, I would still pay for that game. I mean, have you just seen gameplay videos of it already? It's so amazing, that game along with ArcheAge are the only games that are new innovations to MMO. Korea is having so much from with those two games ;( My korean friend has been playing them a lot the past month and he wouldn't stop talking about it tongue.gif

I'm seriously considering on getting GW2, I'm just trying to hold back until a sale, but idk how long I can do so without any game to play tongue.gif

One day I'll show you the MMO that got me started. Some of the skill gaps were 20-30 levels and could take years to get through, and it didn't matter. The monster variety ensured that using the skills you had never got old, you could just go somewhere else where you had to use different tactics if you ever got bored, and there were always plenty of places to rotate to. RPG's are so broken nowadays... Throwing dozens of skills at players doesn't fix basic gameplay problems.

SR3 would run at 90fps right up until the second I crashed. Everything looking gorgeous and silky smooth. Seriously, Try disabling ALL of the power saving options for your processor. I promise you it isn't going to make it unstable, and it may just fix the problem. If not, it takes 30 seconds or so to load your old settings that you can save before making the changes, right?

Not trying to be pushy. I'd just like to note that part of the reason that I spent weeks trying to fix the problem is because I thought that it wasn't an issue with my hardware too, and didn't listen to people who told me it was also.

Both of my computer's are stable, and both fold months on end 24/7 when not in game. Does not matter yet what drivers either. I still get crashes.

The update was a big help, though it seems to tax my gpu quiet a bit more, its still not fixed.

I have also spent money on this game as well. But think its been a good investment.

Don't worry about it lol

But since the patch came out, it probably fixed the issue.

VS, matherson btw.

I could fold, I could run prime95 for days, I could run IBT and any benchmark I wanted with the scores being exactly what I should have expected. I even purposely cut off airflow to my radiator and let my card and processor reach 90c before chickening out and deciding that that couldn't possibly be the problem. My memory passed memtest with flying colors.

Start up Saint's Row? It'd crash every time. That's what made it maddening. Everything tested out perfectly.

The following is my own, mostly retarded and completely unqualified and unproven theory:

I've come to form the opinion that some games are coded in such a way as to just barely make the standard of what I guess is best described as working order. They're typically designed to run really well on lower end systems while still offering high end options, and are being rushed out and on pretty steep budget restrictions for the quality of the game that they turn out to be. This means less or even no redundancies are put in, and small mistakes that would otherwise be corrected, or simply cause performance problems, quickly spin out of control, duplicate, and cause a crash.

Folding@home is pretty good about double-checking everything. I've been able to fold while slightly unstable and finish projects, though it was noticeable that I wasn't getting the performance I should have been. Prime95 is often better for finding clock problems, because it'll immediately notify you there is a problem instead of trying to get by. IBT can be hard to determine, and often takes some playing around with to find the smaller problems. OCCT, which I use a lot, is great at hard crashing your rig at the slightest hitch. I don't call anything stable unless I can run OCCT for a couple days, and it's the last thing I run since, like I said, it almost always causes a complete lockup.

I passed everything except Saint's Row 3 perfectly. This happened twice, by the way. First time it was power settings and second was Ram timings. If you have the game, there aren't any significant problems that I know of with it right now. It's been really stable for a while. Load it up and play for a half an hour. If you don't crash, then it is without a doubt PS2. But with games like PS2 flying by the seat of their pants, when some people are experiencing severe problems while others have almost none, hardware setup is the first thing I suspect. It's something that's relatively easy to check and checking beats waiting for a patch that can't fix the problem.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. thumb.gif
