Sapphire Vapor X 7970 Crysis 3 Beta Screenshots

Thread Starter
Hey everybody, I decided to share some pictures for some on how the the new Crysis should look and run. I playing it on the Sapphire 7970 Vapor X Ghz 6 GB with a mild OC (1180Mhz on the core, 1720Mhz on the Mem), and a Intel 3930k OC to 4.4GHz. So far it's very playable on the Maximum settings, after those 13.2 beta drivers, the Frame-rate never drops below 25 in worst conditions (Good work Ati) at 1920x1080p (8xMSAA). But do remember it's still the Beta, so take it with a grain of salt. thumb.gif

*Right click-View Image to show the full picture*

This is with 4xMSAA

Not to start a controversy or anything, but I'm really glad I traded My GTX 680 2Gb for my Sapphire. Or I would have been screwed trying to max out this game due to the insane Vram demand. Hoping EA will optimize that engine better for our friends who bought 2 GB 680's sad-smiley-002.gif. It was peaking around 2.5 GB.

Meh... who needs 8x MSAA you dump that down to 4 or 2 and 2GB won't be an issue. I'm more worried about the 2560 people. I am one of them. Need to go back to max payne and see what happens.

Thanks for the screens game looks great you should put up a video.

God i wish they would dump that stupid nanosuit 2.0 and go back to the original design. Looks like a roid monkey with a beer belly in a hidious grey corduroy-spandex hybrid jumpsuit.

I am actually looking at getting this card like right now actually. Worth it to get it, I am worried about the cards weight looks pretty heavy.
Thread Starter
Well the card is pretty heavy, but it does have extra bracing built into the back plate for support.

I was actually looking at the 3GB version of the card which actually does not have a back plate, still might go with it now there really is no other 7970 cards I am interested in.

Oh, that one is lighter, so I don't think it would be a problem. Though one thing to consider is the Memory on the 6 GB overclocks better, if your in to that kinda thing. But both are good cards. wink.gif

great card when i had it. convinced me to go amd in the future. my only gripe was of the build quality. the plastic shroud and bracket are too flimsy for a high end card. idk, i guess i was accustom to evga's quality. still, u pay premium, u expect premium quality. and its not that heavy. my 680 ftw was more heavier even though it was a bit smaller. but again, it speaks to the quality. sapphire needs to work in that area or else ill be going to asus on the amd side. trixx is the shiznit!

From what i've heard Nvidia and ATi allocate different quantities of VRAM for certain graphics. In typical cases Nvidia allocates less than ATi. Not sure if this is true or not. Just what i heard.
