Well it damn better be, when they have a multi-million budget!
But the fact is, it's not. Take a look at Hawken for example.
And let's not forget, people don't buy indie games for their graphics but because indie dev's are not afraid to try something new.
The same can not be said about Activision or EA. (They just want their devs to pump out same old casual junk) ($_$)

Hawken isn't an indie game.

Then again, who are you to say it's not? Do you know what indie means?

Looks better than valve titles too, but nobody says anything when they keep using the source engine. How come when valve and blizzard use the same outdated engines "to insure it runs on all systems" get praise but when cod does the same thing it gets flak. I understand their not innovating but im sure there are people who do not care about fancy graphics and who just enjoy the game.

But it's published by Meteor Entertainment?

I'm not honestly sure how they go about that claim of being an independent developer and how ME works with its developers. Indie games usually go without support from a publisher which doesn't seem to be the case with Hawken.

Because games based on the source engine don't look EXACTLY the same just like CoD.
HL2, L4D, Portal, TF2, Dota2 all completely different games that are nothing alike graphic-wise or gameplay wise.
The only games you could say that about are CSS and CS:GO, but CSS wasn't really supposed to be a full game anyway.

That's one series of games compared to many different games.

Portal 1 and 2.. Half Life 2, Episode 1, and Episode 2. L4D and L4D2...
