There were some pretty minimal differences, but some were there. They usually sell for about the same price anyway... Mainly just a way to please OEM's looking for newer SKU's to advertise on their new pre-builts...

Performance wise they are very very close from what Ive read. I figured it was something having to do with keeping the masses happy.

You were completely right. a re-brand with updates features. Quick google with AMD sites for these cards, theres 480 vs 400 sp's, open GL 4.1 vs 3.2 and stuff like that... def nothing groundbreaking. Hence why 6770 was usually only like $10 more than 5770.

DO NOT get the GT 640. Get a 1GB GDDR5 6670, unless you're running 720p or less. Then, I suppose a GDDR3 version would be better, and it would save $20.

You can get a 7750 for about $90 here in the US. It's much faster than the 5670/6670/GT 640 and has a lot of overclocking headroom. If you can find one for a good price in India then get that. Make sure to get the GDDR5 version.

Take the 5670 out of your choices and either of the other ones you can get with the fastest memory would be fine.

Got a site to the store your buying from? I'd have no clue how to look up something for you to see what prices are like. There could be a better alternative. If you have some sites we could browse, might help our suggestions.

Thanks.

Sapphire HD 6670 1GB GDDR5 - Rs. 5671.
http://www.flipkart.com/sapphire-radeon-hd-6670-1gb-ddr5-graphics-card/p/itmdfygjystmyqrx?pid=GRCDFYGJGKEGHRDQ

slightly above budget . but definitely worth it. do not purchase GDDR3 versions. they are slow because of low bandwidth.
