Problems with ATI Tool

Thread Starter
Hey guys, I just joined recently and wanted to see if anyone could help me out. I currently have an X850 XT in my system and I was trying to overclock it. I've been using the newest beta version of ATI Tool which I believe is Beta 14. My problem is, when I press "find max core" or "find max mem" the testing will start, but eventually after about 30 seconds, everything will freeze and the monitor will sorta just shut off. It'll display the little icon saying that theres nothing connected to it, which basically means the GPU shut out.

So what am I doing wrong that keeps me from fully completing the test. The stock settings are 540 / 590 and I had gotten them up to 570 / 615 on my own, but I don't think they were stable because when I ran the artifact test, it would do the same shutting down thing again after 10 seconds.

Thats not the latest get this and try again mate : http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/Tweaking/ATITool

You want Beta 15. Also another reason for Freezing is that your temps get too much for that card..What are you temps mate ?

Well at Idle right now its about 43, but I noticed as it was testing for the core and memory, it was rocketing up to like 60+ which it never does even under a load.

Am I supposed to find the core or mem first?

Well I just tried the Mem first, got it up to like 615, then noticed a dot on the 3D cube so I aborted the test, and things seemed fine, but then it froze and crashed like 2 seconds later. So I dunno whats going on.
