Sins of a Solar Empire: xx performance issues

So I've been playing SoaSE since the original released, and I've kept up completely with the series, through to Rebellion. No matter how powerful a machine I build, I still can't play any sort of game at the kind of framerates I want. At this point, I'd settle for 20 fps after the first two hours of play. My current machine is thus:

AMD FX 8120 8 core processor @ 4.3 GHz
16 GB DDR3 1600 G.Skill Ram
2x nVidia GTX 560Ti cards in SLI
2x 640 GB HDD in RAID0

I've tried every iteration of configurations, from disabling SLI to running the game on the bare minimum of graphics settings. It still
won't plug above ~15 fps after four hours of gameplay on medium maps. Restarts have no effect. Is this just a problem with Sins being a resource whore, or is there some configuration someone has figured out to increase the performance of this game?I am more than experienced in PC gaming, and not being able to run Sins on a rig that makes Crysis **** itself from speed is frustrating.

Definitely sounds like its a problem with the game. Have you heard of other people experiencing similar problems with the game? I would ask around on the game's forums to see if other people are experiencing similar problems. Also, make sure all your drivers are up to date and such. Good luck.

It's a very common problem. Apparently, the game won't use more than 2 GB of RAM and will only use one or two cores of a processor, depending on whether its one of a select few processor models. I was posting more for the purpose of seeing whether anyone has found a workaround for the issue. I've been dogging the developer's forums and a few other places on the web.

The game engine doesn't support 64-bit thats why you get lag. I also get lag on my system because the game engine is writing in such a way that it won't use more then 2GB. In 2008 2GB was standard but not anymore now so yeah.
