Time to upgrade..

Thread Starter
So i'm looking into getting a new monitor.. but I guess you could say i'm in the "newb" category when it comes to specs and really no idea what to look for. I do however have a few questions..

I'm running an xfx double d 7970
As of right now I play BF3 and Guild Wars 2
Preferably looking for a 24"
2ms... 5ms.. 7ms Can the eye really tell a difference?

Is there a visible difference in 120hz or 60hz in gaming?
How does v-sync work with 120hz+
Is there a visible difference in LED and LCD - LED back lit?
Is 1080p enough for pc games?

Here are a few I was looking at... trying to stay under $350.

That last one is really the on I was thinking of getting...

Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

LED backlighting tends to be more even....not a BIG deal, but definitely nicer. 1080p is enough, but you want as much resolution as you can afford.

You can't "see" latency, but you CAN notice it. Same with frequency. You can't "see" it, but you'll notice it.

For $350, there's really just ONE option for you: Korean1440p!!! If I had the money, that's what I'd be on right now. 27", $350, 1440p, low latency, etc. Look up "Korean" in the forums and that's what you'll get. Yamasaki Catleap is the bigger name, but the same panel can be found sold by a variety of mfg's with slightly different bezels and stands and mounts and guarantees. It's typically worth it to pay for "pixel perfect". They can be found on eBay all day long.
