Upgrade Time

Thread Starter
Currently have 2 465 GTX SLi, been reading that the best purchase would be a 7950 boost (certain ones) compare to a 7970. I would also go for a 670 GTX 4GB if anyone has input about that.
Was really waiting for the next series to come out but by looks of it nothing seems to be released. I have no issue waiting for the next one guess I'm just bored and want something new smile.gif
Let me know what you guys think would be the best purchase or just wait.

Get one of these: http://goo.gl/9HRgJ
or if you want a better cooler and to pay a little more, one of these: http://goo.gl/xivor
These also include Free Crysis 3 and Bioshock Infinite.

And later on you can get a second, or get a second now.
Make sure you buy them separately and use the code, Newcustomer, to save $10 on each.

What monitor are you running? I have the 670 4gb and it was a bit of a waste. The only thing I have seen spike that much vram was modded Skyrim, and this is playing at 1440p. The 2gb are plenty for 99% of games and seem to overclock higher as well. Went with nVidia because of a spat with driver problems last summer and I wanted to have Physx for BL2. Otherwise the 7950/70 would have fit the sweet spot. Very overclockable and 3 gigs puts you in the safe zone for vram for a very long time.

yeah as suggested above the sapphire HD 7950 boost has the best value for money. matches GTX 670 at stock. at an average overclock of 1100 mhz matches HD 7970 Ghz performance. at amazon its cheaper than newegg because of free shipping.

You guys realize you get $120 in free games by buying it from newegg.... right? And if you get 2 cards, you can sell the other 2 games on ebay for $80 easy.

Yes and a 25mhz higher overclock. Overall its worth the extra money if you'll be getting just a single card, and maybe a second one later.
