Hi i am building a new gaming rig and i just have a few questions about what i am about to buy.. this is the parts list.

CPU ---- AMD A10-5800K Trinity 3.8GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket FM2 100W Quad-Core Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic AMD Radeon HD 7660D

Motherboard---- ASRock FM2A85X Extreme6 FM2 AMD A85X (Hudson D4) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD

Video Card---- SAPPHIRE 100354XTL Radeon HD 7870 XT w/Boost 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card

HDD---- Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

Power Supply---- CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Case---- NZXT Source 210 Elite White Steel with painted interior ATX Mid Tower Computer Case w/ Black Front Trim

Optical drive ---- cheap samsung

RAM---- G Skill sniper series DDR3 2133 8gb

i know that the MOBO and APU can be crossfired but since i am going to have a fairly nice video card, will i be able to crossfire?? and can someone give me tips on how i should do it??

and i also have a question about the compatibility of the G SKILL RAM with my Motherboard and processor.. can someone please tell me if it will be compatible???

any help would be great thanks

Scrap the APU for an FX or core i5 depending on your budget.

Lose the crossfire for a single more powerful card - 7970 or 7950 OC'd if you're intent on AMD. 660ti is also nice.

You dont need ram that fast.

You can't crossfire your mobo with your processor. Crossfiring is between two amd gpus.

You cannot crossfire a 7870 xt with that apu.

The ram should be compatible.

I would highly recommend not going with an apu rig if you have a videocard, I would go with a fx-6300 or intel equivalent.

whats wrong with the speed of the ram? iv noticed that the 1600 and 2133 are about the same price so why not get the faster set?
NOTE: my main concern is that i dont know if the G SKILL Sniper series is compatible with my APU and MOBO. do you know??

i want to keep the A10 because even without a graphics card it can be crossfired with the motherboard and be able to play a lot of games in decent graphics settings. but since i have room in my budget for a graphics card i am going with this 7870 xt because with its boost it is almost equivelant to the 7950. and even beats the 7950 in some benchmarks, also beats the 660ti in some ways.

all i want to know is if the 7870 can be crossfired with the APU. even though im sure the 7870 will be plenty good enough for my gaming needs, but if it can be crossfired to get a little more out of it then why not?

i know it can be crossfired with a 6670. just not sure about the 7870

ok so it cant be crossfired. but whats wrong with going with a video card with the A10 and this MOBO? they go perfect together. even without a video card.

APUs are weak processors. They're just a bad deal unless you're using their integrated graphics. So if you're not using the integrated graphics, why do you want an inferior product?

Yea this I don't undersand the logic, go with a 4300 or 6300 instead.

Seems like you want an APU but they currently can't do what you would like them to do. Maybe AMD's Steamroller arc APUs can do what you want, but since they don't come for another 8-12 months... you'll do better getting an AM3+ system. The FX-4300 or 6300 will give you more bang for buck.

see i just dont understand this. i was originally looking at a FX6100 and a different ASrock MOBO and i thought it would be a good set up then i have other people telling me to go with the A series APU. the FX6100 is only 3.3ghz and the A10 is 3.8 with 4.2 turbo?

i just need some kind of set up that i can afford. i can only spend around 130 on a processor and about 110-115 on a motherboard. i just thought this APU and motherboard was a good set up since this motherboard aslo has instant overclocking right out of the box. not to mention the other things ill have that can also be over clocked.

i understand what you mean when you say they are a bad deal unless im using the intigrated graphics. but whats wrong with using a decent video card with it? like the 7870 xt. how is it different from the fx6100 and the AM3 motherboard?

but for the same price the FM2 motherboard and A10 apu have more features?

im sorry i really just dont understand...

can you recommend the best set up for the price. about 130 for a processor and 115 for a motherboard
