I will 2nd and 3rd that. Still looking for my first badge for CC. Though it is not as painful not to have it as they say it is. My patience is my gift. Since my PPD doesn't seem to be my gift I have to have a gift of some kind. tongue.gif

Keep on foldin' y'all! thumb.gif

Thats where it's writing data to the drive. I've seen the suggestion of FF a few times of a barrier problem with Ubuntu and ext4 file system.

Not in my experience. I just completed a 7660, and it only slowed my SMP client down a little compared to 807x. As in 3:45 TPF vs. 4:01 on a 7515. The GPU PPD is slightly lower (-3000), but the increase in SMP PPD (+5000) more than covered the loss.

And now I finally got a 7625! It's the first 762x unit I've had in over a month, and apparently it's the first since their points were upgraded. 33.4K PPD and even less SMP burden! wheee.gif

Now if we could only use the older, non-crippled core on these...

Thank you for the link. I will have to look into the ext4 thing, probably durring cc since there's no tc and the rig can be down for a while, it would be a good time to replace the 6 year old hdd with a small ssd too, lol. Its my tc rig so I can't have long delays between wus. Luckily it has only been happening on long wus and not the short ones.

One other thing I just remembered, if I restart the rig right after it finishes a long wu, it will start the new unit right away

I would suspect a file system problem as well. I remember "use this ext file system and not the other one" mentioned quite a few times in guides back when I ran an ubuntu VM.

Yep, ext4 caused BA units to have very long write times upon finish, like 10-15min, where ext3 would finish in under a minute on a normal hard drive. Using ext3 on my mechs because of this, SSD are not affected.

Brag about it why don't you. Jeez, this guy over here.

It's funny because I brag, boast and congratulate myself at literally every chance I get.

EDIT: See like for example, I've been laughing at my own joke for the past couple minutes, and will probably continue to do so.
