7870 tahiti le is your best bet. Your i3 is plenty for a single card configuration and being ivy based is a strong processor. Biggest upgrade for you would be the gpu.

If you're playing BF3 multiplayer then yes you'll need to upgrade your CPU. BF3 multiplayer is pretty CPU intensive, especially on large maps.

i say put the i3 and gtx 560 on ebay. prolly get around 200$ for the pair. I just sold my i3-2120 in 2 days for 85$ on ebay. granted you pay about 10$ in fee's.

get a 3570k and 660ti. 215+ 280(260$ after mir) . looking at adding 275 if you can get 200$ for what you got now. just beg pop's a little harder smile.gif

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/fx-4170-core-i3-3220-benchmarks,3314-7.html

that test is just using a 3550. a overclocked 3570k will open up that gap.

You know the 660ti is $80 more than the 7870 I linked, right? And the 7870 usually beats out the 660ti.
And I doubt he has a motherboard able to overclock when he bought a i3 in the first place.

i bought a i3-2120 and a asrock z77 board at the same time, but i had the intention of upgrading the cpu when i had the money. he may have done the same thing.(if only everyone filled out their rig builder, haha)

As if the amd vs nvidia isn't beat to death daily. the op can make his own decision if he wants to go green or red camp.
Until its fully documented that amd has fixed the frame time issues on more than a couple games i wont recommend them. They got the frame time down on some games but in those games the 660ti beats the 7950. source

Your link shows they fixed the frame time in 13.1-2..

Here's a review showing a 7950 with the same specs as the one I recommended, beating the 670.. http://goo.gl/oxQuN
Also this review was done before the 13.1 drivers.

And, i'm using a 2500k / GTX 580 computer if you attempt to call me a fanboy.

I've heard that the HIS IceQ cooler was the best one for the 7950.
