XBox 360 headset

Thread Starter
I'm looking for a headset (preferably wireless), somewhere between $70-$120. Not a huge audio buff but I do want quality sound. Comfort is important as well. Would prefer something off Amazon (FREE SHIPPING FTW!!!).

I've been using the standard Xbox 360 wireless earpiece for the last several years and I love it. Sure, it isn't a turtle beach for in-game sounds but that's why televisions have speakers. Mine has a rather amazing built-in sound bar to boot. I believe it's somewhere under $50. Excellent battery life, about 8-10 hours on a full charge.

According to this guy who has a ton of headphone experience....

I would try the Tritton 720+ for $129

or the Skullcandy SLYR for $95.

If you didn't know, skullcandy purchased Astrogaming headsets. Decided to leave astro alone and create their own gaming line off the technology used in the astros. The SLYR I believe is their first headset attempt and it seems to get good reviews.

I went from Turtle Beach Tangos ($250) to Astro A40s ($250) and I currently use Astro A50s ($300) and can say the Astros are just leaps and bounds above the turtle beaches. I would imagine the SLYR is better than any and every model of turtle beaches.

Have you tried the cheaper offerings for Turtle Beach? (Like the X11/X12s) I'm wondering because I've tried a Mixamp (the old model) with CALs, and it was terrible in comparison to my TBs. (I have the X11s)

No not for any considerable length of time. My research led me to believe the Tangos we're the best turtle beaches. So those are the ones I had. I also never tried any older Astros, just the 2013 a40s and a50s.

I have to agree with this - I've had a pair of x12's (basically the DX12 sans surround sound processor) for the past year and (for the price) I've been happy. You could get something like the X32 or even the X42 (it's on sale for $125 from Amazon at the moment) for wireless.

I bought the turtle beach x12's for my brother a year and a half ago and he loves them. After hearing music thru them I thought they sounded pretty good damn good for the price. He uses them for his xbox and pc and with the long cord you don't feel attached to the system.
