Multi-monitors stopped worikng (screen seems to have "shrunk")...

I used to have VGA-0 to the right of DVI-0 (primary), and it worked just fine; also I recall the maximum screen size being 4096x4096. However, after I logged in (having just fixed grub), the damn thing had just cloned the desktops.

xrandr gives:
Code:
$ xrandr --output VGA-0 --right-of DVI-0
xrandr: screen cannot be larger than 1920x1920 (desired size 2944x1080)

And KDE system settings do nothing.

xrandr -q output:
Code:
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1920 x 1080, maximum 1920 x 1920
HDMI-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)

   720x400        70.1
   640x400        70.0

Any ideas? The only possibility I can think of is an update screwing up the system, but I had the box running straight for 2 months without even logging out and back in again, so I wouldn't have a clue as to which one.

What GFX card?

Because arandr is so quick and simple, I never learned xrandr.

Never mind - got it fixed by writing my own xorg.conf where I manually set the virtual screen size to 4096x4096 and all is back to normal.
