Switched from Nvidia to ATI 7950, now monitor won't go to sleep?

Anyone ever seen this before? I uninstalled my GTX 260 and replaced it with a Sapphire HD 7950 last night, and now it seems that my monitor is no longer going to sleep when it is supposed to. It's set for 15 minutes, always worked fine before. With the Radeon, it looks like Windows stops sending the desktop graphics to the card (i.e. black screen, no background image or desktop icons); but the mouse cursor is still there, and the monitor is still powered (backlight on). It's as if the card is not sending the "go to sleep" signal to the monitor, if that's a real thing...

I'm already on the latest drivers (13.2). I thought I had it fixed, I changed the power settings to a different timeout and then back again (i.e. to make a "change" and "re-record" my preferences), rebooted, and the monitor went to sleep like it was supposed to...once. But now a few hours later it's back to acting weird again! Any ideas?

Well, apparently there's just me and one other guy over in the AMD forums that have this problem. The common denominator we share seems to be the motherboard. I don't suppose there's anyone else here who uses the same motherboard and has an HD 7950 around here?

How did you put your monitor to sleep? Is it "turn off the display" setting in power options?

Sorry for being out of topic.

Yep. I have it set to turn off the display after 15 minutes, but never put the computer to sleep.

Has always worked perfectly for me, for as long as Windows has had this feature, which was god knows how long ago. This is the first time I've ever even heard of an issue with putting a monitor to sleep...
