I'm really just after cleaner sound and better range.
I'm not concerned with the bass so much.
Either way, this should prove better than what I would have done....

Example PC speakers

I do appreciate you reminding me there is much more to be had from this little taste, Mr. Ninja.
I will, however, ask you to stop makin' me feel so poor.... biggrin.gif

I get a 3.5mm to RCA adapter, anyway.
My current 3.5mm is kinda old and cheap.
Perhaps it could even have degraded the experience...(?)

I grabbed a roll of some wire, too.
It is 16 gauge, though.
I take it you, lostmage recommend not just simply using single 16 lines...?

I guess I should address one more thing: a sound card.

Will this kind of setup benefit with a Xonar over my integrated audio...?

I am considering the recommended Asus Xonar sound card.
Now don't laugh,
but I really would like to spend $30.... **waits for it**

That'd be the DG, which is PCI.
PCI-E would be a prefernce, so that's the DGX, right?
The "X" is just the Express slot version...?
Seems to make sense.
I only wonder about the DSX "Asus AV200" chipset being better than the DS "Asus AV66"...

I did consider the Xonar DS model.
The difference I note was the DS has twice the sample rate, 192Khz.
Would the DG's 96Khz be plenty due to my speaker's range or something...?

Pick the one thats fits in your case/motherboard the best, no matter if its PCI or PCI-E.
Doesnt matter much if a card has a sample rate of 96khz or 192khz, you will be mostly playing at 44.1 or 48khz.
The sample rate a sound card can handle doesnt say much about the sound quality it will produce.

Pretty much all CDs are at 44.1khz/16 bit, so anything at 96khz will be more than enough. I use a Fiio E10 for my DAC (like an external sound card) and the line out from my E9 headphone amp for my speaker amps input.
The speaker wire I have is just radioshack stuff, so it comes in a spool and it has 2 wires connected together. I just twisted that connected pair of wires so that it would cancel some interference, since theres a bit of EMI around my pc setup.
