Anyone tried the new Monsoon fittings? - Page 2

I have 2 sets of them and I like them. I have matte black and black chrome as I couldnt decide which to get. Luckly for my the black crome matches part of my GPUs water blocks perfectly. I like the wrench, it helps about 90% of the time.

As for the tight fitting part, I think it has to do with the tubing as well. I am using two types of tubing in my loop at the moment. Tygon Silver, and Primochill ADV clear. The primochill works great with these and fits on easily, but the Tygon is a different story. I have a hell of a time just to get the rig to reach the thread of the fitting, and once I do it tries to twist the tubing while I am tightening it. My guess is that the Tygon is slightly thicker walled than the Primchill, despite them both being 1/2x3/4

They are nice but scratch easy with the tool. I also got some angled ones and i do not like them at all. Next time i will not be buying monsoon fittings.

Can any of you guys show some pic or something how you are managing to scratch anything when using the wrench?

I'm using Tygon as well in my build. Could be that the OD is slightly larger than 5/8. Had to really crank on the fittings to tighten them and if the wrench slips.....

I'm not saying the scratches are unsightly, they are small and hardly noticable. Well worth the lack of wear and tear on the thumbs. thumb.gif

I recently went to all monsoon fittings and temp probes. I wish I would have switched sooner the fittings are gorgeous and very well made and a breeze to use. I did have a small issue with temp probe but gene from monsoon looked right after this and sent one out right away. Best customer experience I have had in a while. Its good to see a company that still cares about consumers!
