gigabyte athlon xp problem

ok i have a gigabyte ga-7s748 board it must be about 4-5 years old by now and lately i have been have some problems with it one is the monitor flickers on and off for second( not video problem already checked) and next when i go to shut down the computer completely shuts down, even the fans turn off for it instantly comes back on, not a psu already check that. the last time the restart problem happened is when i installed new chipset drivers, and i uninstalled them and it worked fine for a while.

Have you tried bypassing the Case On/OFF switch to eliminate it as defective?

Have you tested the battery yet! If it's low it can't hold the BIOS settings.

i'll do that next, just pull it out and use a volt meter right? ok i checked it, it was 2.4volts so i went and got a new one, checked that one and it was 3.2v much better. i guess we will see if it still does it, when i go to shut it down.
