nah not yet. i tend to take my time with these games but so far, i've had maybe 1-2 hours game time and done like 3 missions.

also i've played this on PS3. i gotta be honest, the PS3 has slightly sharper textures, however the Xbox version appears a bit smoother for me. almost as if the framerate was higher too on Xbox. will still be a good experience either way.

i just cant wait for the PC version now haha.

going to try multiplayer soon.

edit: ok so this game runs TERRIBLE on PS3 compared to Xbox. console gamers take note of this. it honestly feels like 60fps vs 30fps. on Xbox, i didnt die until maybe 3rd mission or something, was able to scan for aliens really well. on PS3 i've already died about 5 times, because the Aliens move so fast the poor framerate means it is very hard to keep up with them.

i hate to say it, since i love my PS3, but if you had to choose a console for this game, choose Xbox. hands down.

Definitely good to hear that someone thinks the Pulse Rifle sounds correct this time. They did pretty well in the 2011 AVP game, but hopefully it sounds a bit better here. That's the big thing with me and games based on movies. That and the feel, which you so nicely described to us all... thanks. biggrin.gif

This game is the ONLY one I have been really waiting for since it was announced and one of the few games that I truly care about... the other one being a better Jedi-esque Star Wars game. redface.gif

haha no worries. ah so you're like me and very picky on our Pulse Rifle sounds wink.gif you'll be happy with this game then mate. it's pretty spot on, as is the smart gun. i found Gorman's Pistol but havnt used it yet, after playing this game for about 1.5hrs i had to watch Aliens on blu-ray haha. Gorman's pistol has a pretty brutal sound to it, interested to see if they replicated it properly in this game.

put it this way, i've been craving this game since it was first announced, cancelled then re-announced. and so far i havnt been disappointed except for the slight performance difference between PS3 and Xbox 360, since i mostly game on PS3.

but then, thats what the PC version is for haha. 1 day for us here, 11 Feb is almost over.

ok guys just had first online experience on PS3 and i gotta say. i really, really, really, hope PC isnt like that. coz its a buggy, laggy, terrible bloody experience so far. really bad im sorry. the concept is fun as hell, being both marine and xeno is pretty fairly matched and equally as fun. the level design is solid, the action is there, in theory.

but the concept is all it has going for it.

executing xeno pounces and attacks is buggy and laggy as hell, makes it almost impossible to line up, ends up being pure luck, then attacks become button mash fests where you just mash attack and hope the enemy is dead by the time the game catches up with whats going on. that or your enemy has unloaded a nade or shotty in your face.

being a marine same thing, aiming at a lagging jumpy xeno who's having the mission of his life trying to line you up makes any form of precision shooting impossible, becomes an absolute spray and pray fest. plus you almost have to lead a shot, even at point blank, to account for the lag.

look could be my internet, although most other online games i play are no where near this bad. i hope its something that can be patched otherwise, coz my god, im actually this close to venting on my bedroom door putting my fist through it, it was that frustrating trying to play.

god i hope this is just a PS3 thing. i havnt even used my bonus codes yet, if its PS3 only i'll sell up and stick to PC and Xbox which is a shame coz a few of my mates are PS3 only gamers.

the way im feeling right now, online gets 3/10. those 3 points are coz you can be a marine, 1, a xeno, 2, and the idea is cool. 3 points.
