Fantastic game. Difficult and rewarding, one of the best rpgs ever imo. Just make sure you dl the screen resolution and framerate fix. Theres a nice thread on here about the game if you do a search.

Yeah , that was my main concern , i've been reading that it's a bad port from the ps3 version and it needs a lot of patching up and fixing , is it worth all the hassle?

The fix is easy now. Takes a minute or 2 and its well worth it. Here is the resolution fix: http://darksouls.nexusmods.com/mods/19

Framerate fix is here: http://darksouls.nexusmods.com/mods/26/

Resolution fix is a must. Framerate fix is optional imo.

Aye thanx a bunch mate , just a last question , is it still playable without a controller? I mean mouse and keyboard!

It's manageable but extremely frustrating to play without a gamepad. Doing it on a mouse and keyboard is like bumping up the difficulty a notch or two, which is saying something.

is extremely hard with a mouse and keyboard and totally unsatisfying i suggest you grab a xbox controller to enjoy the game.

I agree with daman246 and arian49, a controller is a must.

This is the best pad support for Dark Souls I've seen:

http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/downloads/list

Its better than motionjoy. All you do is extract the zip file to the dark souls directory with the .exe. You can setup any type of pad you want, and you only have to configure it one time, doesn't even require you open the program after you set the pad buttons up. I wasn't able to setup my PS2 pad with motionjoy, it just wouldn't recognize it.

I disagree with comments about the K&M support. Out of the box the controls suck but with the DSmouse fix, it plays perfect with a keyboard and mouse, hell i even tried DS with my 360 controller and went back to the K&M but i guess its just different strokes. Dark Souls is the finest RPG i have ever played, if you like a challenge then this will put a huge smile on your face and a hole in your wall from your fist thumb.gif
