Dual Monitor same resolution diff size?

I'd like to have a second monitor to use - some gaming, autocad, development, etc. so I can drag menus or chat windows over to the second monitor to clear up real estate on the primary.

The primary is 27" 1920x1080, but I'd like to get a smaller 23" for the secondary but with the same resolution. So I would be running 3840x1080, just with two different sizes.

Does anybody see a technical issue with this? I know there may be some visual adjustment with the screens not matching up (mouse pointer jumping up or down, different picture quality, etc.) But as far as getting games or other programs to run in that resolution do you see any configuration problems?

Thanks!

I didn't have any problems when using two different sizes on both Nvidia and AMD cards. I even used two different resolutions. Like you mentioned before though everything will be on a different level.

Yeah, I think that will be fine for my needs...but when you were running different resolutions, you couldn't run full "dual screen" resolution, right? I mean you could have two windows open - say one with excel and one with word - and drag them from one to the other. But if you wanted to maximize your spreadsheet across BOTH monitors, the larger one would have to run at the smaller resolution, correct?

Yes correct. The one with the higher resolution was adjusted to the lower's resolution.

Same resolution, different size. The only level difference would be from the physical size difference of the monitors; the desktop and all windows/mouse movements should line up fine.
As for picture quality, not sure what you're referring to; the 23" definitely will look sharper, higher dpi. Other than that picture quality will be dependent on the quality of the monitor.

That is precisely what I meant, the DPI diff between the two...couldn't remember the term!
