You have to keep in mind that when a 7870 beats a GTX 670 or 680 ... etc is not strictly due to bandwidth or MC.
But can be due to the superior compute power of HD7000 series (example like DiRT showdown, Metro 2033 with DOF, Sleeping Dogs... etc)
The GTX 680 most of the time at stock match the 7970 and it has significantly less bandwidth, that is enough to prove how efficient Kepler arc. at using its bandwidth when compared to Tahiti.
Also I didn't say the GTX 680 is not a bandwidth limited card, yes it is. but considering a GTX 680 can match a 7970 most of the time with a 37% lower bandwidth. I have no doubts the Titan will destroy the 7970 on those strict bandwidth situations.

Look guy, I don't want to start things and i"m not here to troll. You're basically telling me that a TWIMTBP title has driver issues after it's been out for a while? Do you honestly think Nvidia would create a game that was more bandwidth intensive and wanted DP float GPGPU? You're majorly grabbing at straws here.

GTX 680 only does well against 7970 in lower memory bandwidth configurations. It has been that Nvidia has had stronger shader performance while AMD/ATI has had better bandwidth for a very, very long time.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/6096/evga-geforce-gtx-680-classified-review/5

Above 1080p, GTX 680 is about 10% slower than 7970 in bandwidth limited situations. The more you increase resolution and MSAA (and non-shader based anti-aliasing methods) the more bandwidth you require. You can tell which games are more shader intensive and which games are more memory intensive by how well GTX 680 does compared to 7970. Not every game on 3 monitors is going to stress memory bandwidth.

Case in point are the Nvidia games in the Anandtech review. TWIMTBP basically means optimize so the game require more shader power and less memory performance (just like the infamous Crysis barrier with extreme tessellation). 5760x1200 doesn't mean it's going to stress GTX 680 memory bandwidth, specially if the game is designed around a specific architecture which has known shortcomings to the manufacturer of the card and the developer of the game.

I know that for common gaming Titan will beat 7970 GE. My point is that we don't know how much more it's going to beat it by.

It definitely won't beat 7970 Crossfire or GTX 690 or GTX 680 SLI. I'm more concerned about what specifically the bottleneck of the card is going to be.

If it's going to be bandwidth limited, I expect performance increase about 40% or so from GTX 680. If it's shader based I expect something along the lines of 60% or possibly even more.

Either way, all of these numbers are going to limit it to being a GTX 690 killer like a lot of people are dreaming about. The size of the die puts it in an awkward position where it can't be sold for a decent price.

And, as others have mentioned, if it did sell for $500 or so it would completely mess up Nvidia's pricing segments right now and drive down the prices of everything else. Why would Nvidia do that if people are still buying GTX 680 custom edition cards for $550? It's going to be expensive and I expect to see benchmarketing results in reviews that place emphasis on memory bandwidth to make the difference between GTX 680 and Titan appear larger than it is.

I fully expect titan to be able to reach 7000 effective. If there were a bottleneck I think it will be core overclocking. Id love to see some 1100 core clocks but I think youll need an arctic cooler or water for that.

Based on pure speculation at this point, what do you guys think of a "Titan" on a 450w 80+ Bronze Silverstone PSU with only 2 SSD, 1 2.5" HDD, 1 120 mm fan, and an undervolted 3570k at 3.8Ghz??? Possible or pushing it?!?!

Not happening.
Edit: Well your current card has a 500W minimum so maybe miracles can happen.

I wouldn't risk it and even if it ran it'd be a shame to run a card like titan with mid range stuff...
