Im kind of sold on that Logi K400

especially for what Id like it to do..

and since I have a Bluetooth adapter, I should be able to use the PS3 controller for most of my games if I so chose to play one on the PC.

I used magic mouse on my iPod for a while. It always worked pretty well. It has media controls, lets you switch between applications, or lets you use the whole touch screen as a mouse. It's also one of those you can use over wifi and need the client running on your PC to connect.

I have the Logitech k400 which I use to control my PC or Laptop when they are plugged into my T.V. It is a great little keyboard and the on/off switch is great because the batteries that come with it will last a year if you turn it off when you are not using it. My only gripe, which is one that I found in a lot of the reviews, is that the touch pad is a little sensitive, but once you get used to it it is not really a hassle. The size is good, it is not awkward to type on at all. Also, it has a 30ft range, which is awesome.

I like the Logitech Harmony one, my best friend uses it. His PC is the FIOS cable box / DVR and HTPC. The remote lets you control it all, even his receiver and other devices. Works nice.

These all sound like good ideas with minor shortcomings. I think using VNC would get old and don't need any more reason to run down my iPhone battery. Plus I use it to control VLC already.

K400 looks good but can anyone else chime in on the touchpad? The revue controller looks good but I can't really see the keys by the pictures, does the d-pad double as a touch pad?

Yes, there is a switch to change between D-pad and touchpad.

Thanks

I use that lenovo too. It's a bit annoying when you need to type something, er full sentences etc hehe. The mouse button is twitchy too. However it's reliable, backlit and simple to use. I've had other media remotes and I've ended with the lenovo. I've had a ps3 media keyboard to that I used for both pc and ps3. It works fine, can type on forums, but it's not exactly out of sight and it is not very cool looking when guest are over and you have to break out the full keyboard to do something on htpc. It just looks not so cool anymore.
