Would some thermal pads help in cooling the VRMs on my 7950 TFIII?

It's on the 7970 PCB btw.

Possibly, assuming the new pads are of significantly higher thermal conductivity than the originals.

If you want the best stuff available, look for Fujipoly SARCON XR-Um. FrozenCPU sells sheets of the stuff, but it's pretty expensive.

Honestly, the difference is unlikely to make it worthwhile, unless you have reason to believe your current setup has a problem.

Combined with proper heat sinks or water block the pads will help cool down hot parts like memory and vrms.

What about just using it with the stock cooler?
If your trying to really reduce your temps look at this

http://www.overclock.net/t/1207925/accelero-xtreme-plus-ii-on-7970-it-fits-help-me-please-glue-is-drying-out-hurry#post_16330638

ram sinks and aftermarket cooler do wonders

EDIT: Just noticed it was the TFIII, do you really even need additional cooling?

How is that thread supposed to help him with a tf3? I posted a lot in that thread lol, lucky for that op.

Snuckie there's nothing you can do, the tf3 comes with a small block on the main vrm strip. It's already better than anything you could fashion yourself. The other vrm is part of the memory plate. Air cooled vrms suck, nothing else to say really except they especially suck on the open fan coolers. With the reference cooler, the structure mounted to the vrm is the whole body of the cooler so there is a huge amount of surface area.

Refer here. The best you could possibly get on air cooled vrms is the switech unisink and it will still breach 90c worst case scenario. Now look at that wimpy lil vrm block on your card lol.
