[HWI] Club 3D Radeon 7990 benchmark - Page 7

Yeah.

The only thing that holds me back from 1440P's is money - And my desk is to small.

Oh well.. Like you said. In some years maybe 1440P is used everywhere.

If someone has 5760x1080p monitors, he won't need the so called 100$ adpaters like you are saying. DVI-Single link is able to transfer 1200p resolution @ 60hz. And display ports only need a DVI to DP adapters at 15$ for 1080p or 1200p.

In my opinion, what would be the best would be 3 x DVI but that is not gonna happen, especially with more and more monitors with Display ports.

Tell me what is a fail? I think I have good points on why IT'S NOT a fail.

Oh and by the way, I feel the extreme sarcasm in your post. Can you leave sarcasm and arrogance aside please?

And how many every day users go out and spend a thousand dollars on a graphics card? 1200p at 60hz is bad bandwidth, thats why DL-DVI came out, even 1080p 120hz monitors and up require DL-DVI or displayport. 1440p/1600p require DL-DVI if they are to be run over DVI, some monitors STILL just don't come with displayports on them. I'll leave the sarcasm out when you stop ignoring the logic in my post and responding with sarcasm of your own.

This is an enthusiast level graphics card, and you are comparing it to mainstream monitor levels. Its fail because you can use the single link SL-DVI cables in DL-DVI port if you need only SL for your monitor. But you can't magically add DL-DVI support if you need it. Does it kill the graphics card because they added a SL-DVI port? Nope, but is it a major fail and design gaff on their part? Yep, it certainly is.

I for one just run a benq 120hz montior . will eventually add to the display array. (maybe some more 120hz monitors or larger resolution monitors ) but my biggest reasoning for the power is to keep my eye candy on @ 120fps or higher.

I paid total 150$ for both of them, but hey, the monitors cost over 1 500$. For a total of 1 650$ . + Quadfire 7970s + waterblocks

GTX 690: 2 x DVI-D DL, so I would need a single 75$ only and not two with my 1 500$ monitors, for a total of 1 575$.

The difference is 75$. I don't call that a fail at all when monitors are having more and more DPs input. Unfortunately, mine only had DVI-DL.

Don't you think if you can afford (2 x 1200$ GPUs) + 1500$ monitors and you can't afford another 75$ Adapter?

75$ per monitor. I can afford it, I call it a fail though, the cost difference unless there was some architectural issue preventing a DL-DVI, might have been 1$ for them to produce with 2x DL-DVI instead of one of them a single. There is no reason that should have been pushed on the customer.

PS Nice crossovers, I went with QNIX though biggrin.gif

I want to exchange my 3 24" LED for a 1440p monitor.. I love 3 screens but I dunno, I think I need a change.

I'm considering getting rid of my 2433BW for another QNIX, these things are absolutely gorgeous.

The best would be 3 x DVI-DL + 3 x DP for possible 6 monitors eyefinity biggrin.gif .

You are right when saying they could have put 2 s DVi-DL (+rep ), but I wouldn't call it a fail, its still the same architechture as the 79xx. Let's see next gen. thumb.gif

PS: Thans for the compliment. wink.gif
