Again, I'm stable at 4.5Ghz with 1.38vcore (on auto) but I get an ambient temperature of 40-44 C. Is that normal? I can put my fans up all the way and it drops to 37-39C but than it's awful loud.

Any suggestions?

Best

My thought is 1.38 is rather high for 4.5 have you tried lowering it at all? If I remember correctly I only had to run around 1.31 for 4.6Ghz. If you want I'll snap a bunch of screenshots tonight of my bios for you since we run the same boards.

As far as temps, they seem a bit high if you mean they are idle temps, ambient would be the air temps in the room and if they are 40c they I suggest air conditioning lol

Edit: Thinking about it, if your voltage is locked at 1.38, meaning at idle it doesn't lower then 40c sounds about right. I'm not sure if the auto overclock feature allows the voltage and clocks to drop

Thank you for the response. The 1.38v was read through cpu-z, in BIOS it was set to AUTO. I tried lowering it until it went unstable and for me it was 1.36v in BIOS. In cpu-z I see it's 1.32-1.34v and temps are around 38 now so seems good. Everything else is set to auto.

Thanks again for the help!

Also I think I'm not getting the full 4.5 Ghz with this set up (126x36) because in CPU-Z it says 4.5 but in all other properties it says 4.04 (BIOS even says that) so I'm probably not getting the full out of my cpu. Any help? Why is that so?

Thanks! Dave

Here's my dillema...

In BIOS I see in the main menu that the speed which the CPU is running at is 4070 Mhz

However my setting for the overclock look like this:

As you can see it's aimed for 4.5 Ghz and in CPU-Z and other software it shows as 4.5 Ghz!

BUT in Windows system properties you can clearly see it's only the 4070 Ghz

What's ALSO very weird is that my RipjawZ 2133 Mhz RAM is only at a frequency of 1016 Mhz??? Memtest showed that everything is fine with my ram:

I'm exhausted... any help?

Best
Dave

PS: Okay figured out the RAM is running at normal speed. However the CPU GHZ/MHZ problem still remains. Got it stable at 126.35*36 but still only shows as 4060 Mhz in BIOS and WINDOWS.

What's also weird is if I do the "OC TUNER" and click "Ok" it restarts with automatic oc but then it doesn't boot the first time, but the second time...

BUMP... anyone?

I am stable now at 126.5*36 which should give me 4.5Ghz but in BIOS and other applications I see it's still 4050mhz...

How can I be sure which clock I'm running?

Dave
