My post was semi-sarcastic, sorry.
There are already a lot of programs out there that can do 90% of what Office and just about all the Adobe products can do out there already ... and for FREE.
If people are whining about how much Microsoft and Adobe are charging, then stop using/buying them. Not only will you save money, but you'll send a message to those companies to lower their prices.
Price is what the market will bear, and as long as Australians keep opening up their wallets and paying these people, they won't change. Whining about it out loud, or even to their government isn't the best way that a free market handles things (or should), vote with you wallets.
The reality is, the people that are paying $4400 for CS6 are COMPANIES, not the home user. Heck, the home user isn't going to even pay the $2600 US price. Odds are, 99% of the people who are whining about this don't have ANY intent of paying EITHER of those prices. MAYBE the company they work for do, but odds are, not them personally.Edited by 47 Knucklehead - 3/5/13 at 5:57am
