I'm going to be picking up a 7950 xfx http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=68593&vpn=FX795ATNFC&manufacture=XFX&promoid=1312
i will be also picking up a h60 refurb for 45 $ and using it on the 7950.

how good or bad is this card?

The core edition is basicly just as bad/good as the reference design.

the sapphire HD 7950 950 mhz edition with model no (11196-10-40G) is a very good card. uses a HD 7970 PCB with 8 + 6 pin. better power delivery allows more stability at extreme overclocks. since you are doing a cooling mod its a good choice.

you can ask sonda5 who has this card for more info. he has it watercooled at 1.3+ Ghz with heatkiller block.

asus has a 3 slot cooler. quite good. There were many problems with the V1 cards. so get direct feedback from atleast a couple of v2 owner that it works fine.

here is another option. the sapphire HD 7950 boost with model no 11196-16-20G. price CAD 300 + shipping & taxes.
