If they've designed the game to not need more than the prescribed number of cores due to work offloading to the cloud, its actually efficient coding based on the actual design of the game.

I also wonder why you can't type wt"eff" without an infraction, but it seems people can type the word piss all they want. Is piss not a curse word in America or something?
Not at all.

Coding a game to have parts in the cloud is not synonymous with a game running badly.

It's literally that simple.

Well no, It's to badly optimized to run solely on a computer (regardless of power) and to badly optimized to run solely in the cloud (regardless of power).

That's like saying cars are too badly optimized to run without fuel and are therefore "designed to run badly".

Internet explorer is too badly optimized to run without internet and internet is too badly optimized to allow access without a browser.

No, its simply called "utterly stupid" and bordering on INSULTING instead of letting the end users like use who paid a lot of money on our systems to allow us modify and run our purchased PC games at HIGH or whatever setings WE CHOOSE TO RUN and take FULL ADVANTAGE of OUR hardware instead of EA continue to pull our strings to limit us with their stupid DRM protection and cloud based gaming scheme.

Steam does maintain copyright protection, Activiation and DRM on games through their system but can you name a game on Steam that nerfs the end users ability to fully utilize their PC's hardware to run a game at max visual potential or whatever settings they see fit by REQUIRING part of the game code to be processed through their cloud servers because its a more "efficient way? Noooooo!

Luckily you don't play games like lovely low res textured Skyrim that requires the "stupid DRM protection" called Steam that Origin is a clone of!

And luckily you don't play games like Diablo 3 that "pull your strings" and "limit you" with "INSULTING" cloud based assets and such!

Oh wait..

Oh and lets not forget how you're preparing to buy a lovely StarCraft that requires logging into Blizzard servers to play single player?

Well would you look at that?

Look at all these low res texture, cloud based, drm client tied games you've happily been playing that are associated with these things you apparently hate?

Fine, so in a "perfect" programming world its becoming more "efficient" to make cloud based rendering farms process game code instead of making peoples end computer do it. Lets just ignore the total fact that A LOT of people do not have the fastest and or most reliable internet connection for a variety of reasons which makes the could based game code processing idea stupid to begin with. *cough Nvidia Shield*

Most of us, including me are upset and actually angry because that "efficient" cloud based game proccessing idea in general is just really, really, really stupid in the real world application. And makes it insulting because it makes A LOT of people here including me who spend a lot of money on high quality PC gaming equipment to run OUR LEGALLY PURCHASED games on our OWN machines AS WE SEE FIT nearly negated as EA is basically telling us

"Oh, you silly PC gamers, you don't need that kinda hardware anymore, we'll take care of that now because we just know better. Oh, and you can't play unless your always connected to our servers, its for your protection"

Well screeeeeeeeeew that Batman!

DRM protection is one thing you can't get around nowadays, I don't like it but there it is. HOWEVER, it is NOT cool to code a game to offload gaming code to a cloud based server therebye rendering high end PC gaming hardware semi useless which is essentially what EA is doing.

Just because its more "efficient" on paper doesn't automatically make it best choice in the real world.

And I stopped playing Diablo 3 last year after Blizzards crap started to get out of control and server issues after about a month after launch. Skryim's basically limited to DRM and game updates via Steams servers, NOT offloading game code.

So try again with twisting my words. Perhaps a cup of tea and crumpets will calm your Brit tude a bit mate?

I'll just refer you to my last post (the one you quoted) lol.

I'm sure you were just balling your eyes out at how neither The Witcher, Skyrim, Diablo 3 etc utilized the DX11 capabilities of your PC or how devs are literally obliged and indebted to make DX11 games for you, simply because of the fact that you bought DX11 hardware.

Nope, Cars require fuel just like computers requires power. This is as i said: Like removing half the sparkplugs and having the car towed (By a car that isn't strong enough) with the engine running.
It's a constructed problem, I would call it avoidable but that would mean that EA's was in some way inevitable. So no this is just a constructed problem for no reason at all other than well: EA! It's in the game!

Yeah, but most of the world drives 1.6l diesels not v8's, so being towed may even be faster biggrin.gif
