[PCPer] NVIDIA Joins the Bundle Game: Up to $150 in credit on Free-to-Play games for all GTX buyers - Page 6

Thanks Orici, I was actually looking at the GeForce site and came back here to find you had posted this.

On a side note, it appears that you have to get the redemption codes from the retailers upon purchase. I bought my GTX 660 at my local Micro Center. Anyone think I could take my receipt back to the store and get them to give me the codes since it was only a couple days ago?

Edit: I just called my Micro Center and spoke with a salesman. He told me they didn't have any of the vouchers yet, but he figured they would get them no later than the end of this week. He also told me I could bring my receipt in and they would honor it for the promo code bundle. <3 MC! thumb.gif

This "bundle" is not nearly as inciting as AMD's current offering, but at least NVIDIA is offering something to the people who purchase their cards. Hawken and Planetside at played by quiet a lot of people, so this may help them sell more cards (As if they've been having issues selling them)

It just feels more mediocre to me.

If they are going to give us made up value, at least make it be "worth" substantially more than AMD's offerings. (its credits for stuff you can get for free with a little time... so I see this as no value at all, just time saving if your already into those games)

And again, since you can't sell the games, they have 0 real world value really. So why not pick a few games, and give the buyer a choice in which game(s) to recieve said credits. Surely this could easily be done with a redemption page on the nVidia site or something, where you get to allot how much of the credit is to be given where. This would at least make the fake value look like its worth more to a wider audience of people.

But yea, this is kinda lame really. Better than nothing for sure, but still a little lame. Like they were scrambling to counter AMD and came up way short on ideas.... At least I'd hope thats the case. I'd seriously be disappointed if nVidia saw AMD's move coming and this is what they actually planned to counter with...

Another thing that you must consider, with AMD "signing" Crysis 3 and Bioshock what other top tier games can nVidia offer? There really is nothing else out right now that is on par(with expected sales) with those 2 titles. PL2 has a huge user base, so to me that was a wise idea, WOT though?? kind of an old title, but when I played it, it was rather popular as well.

See I think this is silly...

Really "gaming bundle war"? I have NEVER and would NEVER buy one video card over another just because it's got some worthless game coming with it. I think that many people are this way (perhaps I am wrong) ... it's all marketing... and I think nvidia realizes that it's besides the point, they are a graphics chip maker- not Walmart.

So perhaps they put this out just to show some competition... doesn't matter if they "win" it's just a matter of showing up.

Please tell me more about how you have played the games listed there because Planetside 2 and Hawken are of the most gorgeous games.

I really hate that people think that free-to-play games are games that can't match the quality of AAA games. Wake up the industry is changing and games like Hawken, Planetside 2 and Mechwarrior Online are simply gorgeous and way better in many aspects from AAA titles. Seriously, wake up.

On the thread's note this is indeed a weak offer even though I would be interested for the credit in PS2 and Hawken but still it is weak comapred to AMD

Or you can say Nvidia does not need game bundle to sell their cards.

Oh yeah that's why they play the game, that is why I have already paid 40 euro for PS2 and I'm planning to give another 40. Also that is why my outfit's co-leader has spent around 1000 euro for his 3 characters.

People if you have no idea about something then do not talk about it.
